Read this first. The values on this map were entered by hand and are approximate. They were meant to follow the Global Peace Index 2025, the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme 2024 and the UNDP Education Index 2022, but they are not computed from those datasets and cannot be reproduced. Only 94 countries are shown. The country is the wrong unit for the question in our brief, and this map does not show states or tipping points. It is a display prototype, shown for transparency.
We removed the weighted-average composite that earlier versions showed. Averaging lets strength in one dimension offset a bottleneck in another, which is the opposite of threshold logic.
Our brief asks for small-area data that does not yet exist for all of the indicators. This map shows the national picture that is easier to assemble, and it is the version of the idea we first published. It is kept so that the change of direction is visible, not hidden.
